Dipsocoromorpha

Our lab focuses on all aspects of systematic research on Dipsocoromorpha, with emphasis on the taxonomy and phylogeny of Schizopteridae. Our projects comprise different systematic levels, i.e. species descriptions and generic revisions, but also higher-level systematics, and emphasize both morphological and molecular data acquisition and analysis. An improved understanding of systematics of this group will establish them as a model for investigating genitalic asymmetry and the evolution of elytra and will eventually be the key to understanding how a group of tiny organisms can become as diverse as Dipsocoromorpha are today.
